the most challenging part is “doing nothing”

Last night around 8:30 pm, I decided to take a walk. In Mumbai, there’s a lot of road construction happening during this time.

This leads to increased traffic, pollution, dusk, and garbage accumulation on the roads.

Instead of taking the usual Malad mindspace route through Malad, I chose to walk towards Malad station.

At one point, the smell of garbage and dust became so strong that I had to put on a mask, which made it a little better.

We tend to avoid such areas due to feeling disgusted and considering them unhygienic.

We can see, smell, and avoid the external garbage like this.

But what about the invisible garbage?

In our minds, there’s invisible garbage too—negative emotions like anger, jealousy, hate, and resentment.

Although unseen, they exist.

Remarkably, great souls or avatars can see these emotions. They have the ability to read human minds.

Despite being aware of this invisible garbage, when God asks them,

“Are you ready to take human form and come to earth to help humanity?”

“Yes.” they respond

That’s precisely what our Guruji, Shri Paramhansa Yogananda, accomplished.

Even after his passing, his incredible work in Kriya Yoga continues to attract numerous souls from different countries.

Kriya Yoga is an ancient science.

Our Mmahaguru Lahiri Mahasaya received it from his guru, Babaji, who rediscovered and clarified the technique after it had been lost for many years.

During our yoga journey, we are expected to act in certain way.

We have to learn some discipline.

But this body says,

I am the master over you. Whatever I dictate you must do. If I am hungry , you must feed me. If I am cold then you musy put a jackeyt on me. If I am tired then you must give me sleep. Through my senses whatever I see, hear, taste or touch that I desire, you must give that to me.”

And most of the time, we obey our bodies.

But during meditation, we say

“Now its time for GOD, but body is restless.”

So Patanjali says, “The next step – you have to learn asana.”

That correct posture for meditation, which also means -> correct contorl of the life that is in this body.

So that the body restlessness and desires , temptations, sensations will not take us away from God – that higher divine power.

Next step is practice of control of life force that feeds this body. That is pranayam.

In Guruji’s Kriya Yoga, he has provided many effective pranayama techniques along with three powerful kriya techniques.

Kriya Yoga is mentioned twice by the ancient sage Patanjali, who wrote:

“Kriya Yoga consists of body discipline, mental control, and meditating on Aum.”

According to Patanjali, God is represented by the Cosmic Sound of Aum, which can be heard during meditation.

Despite having the option to renounce everything and retreat to the Himalayas to focus solely on his spiritual growth, Guruji chose a different path.

He was a chosen one who dedicated his entire life to uplifting others.

If you’re new to this website and reading this article for the first time, you might notice that sometimes I discuss trading, as I did here.
In a bear market, we do research and study projects to invest in. We plant seeds during a bear market.

In a bull market, we create exit plans, figuring out how and when to leave the market.

When we invest in good projects, our confidence grows. When our confidence is strong, all we have to do is wait.

We simply need to have patience, do nothing, and wait for our targets to be reached.

The most challenging part is “doing nothing.”

This is similar to what we do in meditation. We sit quietly and do nothing.

Through daily meditation practice, we patiently wait for our ultimate target to be reached: reunion with our beloved heavenly father, GOD.

When that will happen? In this life, next one..?

Today, I spent the entire morning and afternoon traveling. Holi is approaching, and we’ve come outside Mumbai to celebrate it.

It feels great here. Place is surrounded by mountains, bougainvillea and chapha trees.

Last week, I finally decided to cut my hair after a long time.

The hairstylist asked me, “Madam, how much length should I cut?” I gave him full freedom to cut my hair as he thought best. “Do whatever you think is right,” I said.

After the haircut, he asked, “Madam, should I keep your hair straight or curl it?”

“Curls, please,” I replied.

But when I looked in the mirror afterward, I felt like a bloated cauliflower. Haha

After feeling like that all day, it only took one hair wash to return my hair to its normal condition.

Before finishing this article, I want to wish you and your loved ones a happy Holi.

All my friends are playing games outside, so I need to join them now.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Stay blessed, stay happy.

Much love,

Arati
