tomatoes, trading and inner world

“Tomato leee looooooo, 170 Rs Kg only and 6 months warranty.” – One tomato seller

Left: So, you want to talk about tomatoes or what?

Right: Why not? Yesterday when I went for vegetable shopping , everyone was talking about tomatoes… and I don’t have any specific topic to discuss today. This week was normal… work, rain,  nothing special happened.

Left: But still, tomatoes? It’s a spiritual post. You cannot talk about tomatoes.

Right:You can eat tomatoes and can’t talk about it? Let me just start with tomatoes, and we will see what comes in the end.

Left: Sighhh…alright then.

Now both, my left side and right side have given me a green signal to talk about tomatoes. Lets get started.

if I let my true nature flow freely while writing, then I will convert all these spiritual posts into comedy posts.😁

Before tomato prices increased to 170 Rs/kg, I used to get them for as low as 20 Rs/kg until last month. We use Tomatoes in daily cooking. Due to their high dependency, people are now ready to pay 170 Rs for one kg.

When a particular item becomes rare or its supply is limited, its price goes up.

In trading, we check supply and demand. Limited supply and a good real case scenario often lead to good choice. To be a good trader, one has to study not only the market but also their own behavior. (Please note here I am talking about trading and not investment.)

Every trader has a different trading style. And the style depends on personality.

Some are day traders, some are swing traders, and some prefer scalping. Before starting a trade, we do some analysis. Technical analysis may include things like support, resistance, charts, and indicators.

But if, one can not have control over ones behaviour then technical analysis does not work.

Trading is more of psycology.

When market dumps, it creates fears in people. Out of fear, people start selling.

When market goes up and starts giving profit, it creates greed in people. They may not book profits, hoping that the market will go up even more. Market is always there to provide opportunities.

“Then why do people lose money and leave trading in their initial days? Why can’t everyone be a profitable trader?”

To make profits consistently in trading, one has to understand oneself first. Understand one’s feelings, thoughts, triggers, and recognize one’s own fears, greeds, and patterns. One has to spend time with oneself, do reflection, and, in short, perform self-analysis.

Not all people are ready to work on themselves. A good trader studies market and does self analysis, and there are market patterns. In this cycle, year, this month, or on this particular day, the market behaved like this. Market patterns are based on people’s fear and greed.

Having a desire is not bad, but being greedy is not acceptable in the market too. The market shakes weak and greedy hands on time to time basis.

No one can predict or control the market 100%. The market keeps changing due to so many external factors. That’s why a good trader creates a set of rules for themselves. For example, a simple trading rule can be ‘buy low and sell high’.

These rules give signals …. when to enter and exit the market, when to book profit or book loss. It is not required to stay in the market all the time. The right entry and right exit are important.

These set of self created rules are called as trader’s system.  This system brings certain discipline for traders.

Good traders always follow their system.  My trading system can be different from yours. These system are person specific. System makes them self-dependent when the market is constantly changing.

This system also makes traders detached. A good trader does not chase trades. If the market goes up, and if they fail to catch uptrend, they do not forcefully enter in the market. They wait for the next opportunity and follow their system’s signal. It’s not about how many trades; it’s about quality of the trade.

Detached from their trades – one cannot stay in the market all the times just because it was profitable once. Right entry and right exit are equally important. To make the right exit, detachment helps. A good trader stays calm and keeps polishing their system.

Like traders, we have a system, our inner system, our inner world. Now re-read above and try to co-relate trader’s system with our inner world.

Everything else is constantly changing. Sometimes we like these changes, and sometimes we don’t. And we all know we cannot control the outside world. All we can do is constantly work on ourselves.

Traders take actions when their system tells them to do so. They avoid temptations for random trades, even if they could be profitable. It’s not just about some random profit; it’s about the point that repeatedly taking random calls can form a habit.

We need to keep working on ourselves. Now, it’s not an option anymore; it’s a necessity for everyone.

Like trader’s inner system, we need to keep polishing our inner system every day. And if we do that our. intuition power , our calmness will increase.

To make our inner world strong what can we do?

Step one:  physical level – move our body every single day – do anything we like, such as running, jumping, dancing, practicing yoga asanas, climbing, trekking, or whatever we prefer.

Step two: emotional level – everyday check our emotions, understand our triggers, practice affirmations.

and if we feel heavy emotions like anger, jealousy, hatred etc… then go back to step no 1

Step three: spiritual level – we can practice silence , chat mantras, visit sacred places, meditation,

Sometimes, self-love can be misinterpreted as ‘I love myself, so I don’t care’ behavior. Only if they can understand the broader perspective of self-love….. .

Working with kids is so much fun. I like their cute questions, and they are the only ones in my life who ask more questions than me. 🙂

This week, especially on Wednesday, it rained a lot. Climate was so beautiful. I could not go outside as I had some classes to take.

On that day, I uploaded a barish video on my Instagram story. Within one hour, I got a call from my aai (my mother).

“Hello, jhopali ahes ( are you sleeping)?”  Aai asked ..it was 3 pm something.

After ‘jevlis ka?’  ……’jhopali ka? is one of aai’s most frequently ask questions. When she calls me, she does not care whether its 10 am, 12 pm, 3 pm or 6 pm. She will ask this question, jhopali ahes??

“Ho, jhopali ahe. Me 24 taas jhopatach asate. (Yes, I am sleeping. I sleep all day) ” I said

“He he he” we both giggled.

“Its raining heavily and I checked your instagram story.” Aai said

“dont go outside. Stay home” Aai continued

“Okay” I said

Monsoon is my favourite season. Every year I wait for this season to start. If there were no classes on Wednesday, then I would have gone outside.

So that day I decided till monsoon ends,  I will complete my work early and keep my self free. So that i dont have to miss any moments. Work will continue till rest of my life but this monsoon will not stay.

In this new spare time , I have couple of things in mind.. I will start visiting  Hanuman temple, join library, go for a ride or I will go for a long walk without umbrella..spend more time on my spiritual practices…also will visit dadar flower market ..buy flowers and make garlands…etc etc

today I started with tomato then it took us to trading and then we ended with inner world.

Ever since I have started writing these weekend posts here, the length of these posts has increased. Also, I feel I have started a weekly magazine.

You may not like or agree with all the things I write here. That’s fine. I can understand.

but my question is…on this day what is that one thing. you like about yourself?

is that your kindness?

is that your smile?

is that shine in your eyes?

is that your ability to think good thoughts?

is that purity which is still present in you?

I hope one day you will realise how many good qualities you have.

Today with a smile on my face I am ending this post and I hope you are also smiling on the other side.

Stay happy. Stay blessed always.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend 🙂

Much love,

Arati

❤️
