Cycle of Reincarnation

  • by

I opened the big sliding door of my hotel room and stepped outside. The front view was filled with greenery, big trees, and the smooth flow of the Goan river.

Walking towards the river, I was struck by its vastness. It was a bit windy, and the breeze played with my hair. When I turned around, I noticed an old lady in loose clothes staring at me with a gentle smile.

As I looked back at her, she smiled and showed her 32 teeth. Her smile was kind, and I smiled back and showed my 36 teeth (32 +4 = 36  how can I not count my wisdom teeth :)). I returned to my room. She is my hotel neighbour.

Before I continued further let me say, “Hello from Goa”

As I am writing this post, today is my 3rd day here.

The place where I’m staying has a lovely view of the river.

Yesterday morning, I sat in front of the river and spent a peaceful hour reading books on self-realization by Shri Yogananda. While I was reading, I heard , two men (Indians) were loudly discussing business matters. Later there was an addition of one more voice.

The lady, who had caught my attention earlier, scolded them for speaking loudly in a peaceful place meant for relaxation.

“Please talk in a lower voice. People come to such places for peace. How can you disturb others with your loud voices? If you want to discuss business, get a room instead of talking here in this shared open space,” she shouted at them.

She also noticed that I heard her shouting at them. After that, she came over to where I was sitting.

“Hello, good morning,” she greeted me.

Although she looked Indian, her English had a different tone, somewhat like an NRI. I greeted her back.

“It’s a very peaceful place. Are you an artist? Are you drawing something?” she asked, looking at my notebook and papers.

“No, I’m just reading my Guru’s spiritual books,” I replied.

“That’s nice. You know, these people should understand and not talk so loudly. They were creating noise, and that’s why I scolded them,” she said.

When humans are in aligned with the source energy (God), they feel happy, joyous, and kind. When they not aligned, they experience feelings like anxiety, fear, anger, and jealousy.

Throughout life, people may find themselves disconnected from this alignment due to emotions like anger or hatred. In such times, they often try to justify or make excuses for this disconnection.

However, deep down, they know the need to return to that alignment with the source.

Initially, they feel guilty for the misalignment, but once that guilt fades, they experience relief and find their way back to that source.”

I showed her jellyfishes in the river.

Goa has 3 parts.

  • South Goa: Less commercialised, less crowded, beautiful and peaceful beaches.
  • North Goa: More commercialised and tends to be more crowded.
  • Panjim: The central part of Goa.

Currently, I’m in Panjim.

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve visited Goa throughout my life.

From childhood sometimes with parents, with friends, with relatives and sometimes alone. Goa holds a special place in my heart.

There’s a college in Goa named Goa Institute of Management. I had hoped to get into this college simply to be able to stay in Goa, but that didn’t happen.

While other places I visit might overwhelm me with their beauty, culture, food, and history, Goa feels like home. It doesn’t overwhelm me.

As Mumbai becomes more crowded and dusty, I’m considering shifting somewhere else in the future, and Goa is on that list.

My desire is to live in a place surrounded by nature, with trees, flowers, rivers, waterfalls, mountains, and fresh air where I can see both sunsets and sunrises.

If this desire gets fulfilled, great; if not, I believe that God’s plan is the best plan.

Our desires can become the cause of a reincarnation cycle.

Some rich men, on the death bed..dying due to nervous breakdown say: “If only I could live on the earth with a healthy body, I would be glad to live without money.”

So they reincarnate as healthy man without money. Then they struggle and struggle for money and when they are dying of starvation they say: “If only I had health and money, how happy I would be .”

So they reincarnate with plenty of money and health but without happiness.  On their deathbed they say: ” If only I could have happiness, I would let go of health and money.”

The next time they come back to earth very happy but without health or money…and so the cycle of boredom, greed, lack continues…

As I write this post, it’s Saturday, 12:04 pm in India, and I’ll be in Goa for a couple more days.

When your parents say not to ride a motorcycle or go into the sea, you might rent a scooter instead and explore local markets.

That’s today’s plan, visit Panjim market.

Oil in my head, ideas in a spread,

Holding a scooty, off I’ll head.

Bag of oranges, colors so bright,

Off to Panjim market, a joyful sight.

Singing “la la la,” with pure delight.

Which place feels like home to you, and why?

Publishing this post so late today. If I made you wait, then Sorry 🙏🏻🙂

Will you smile by looking at this beautiful sunset?

Oh, please don’t be kanjoos, show a big smile!

Show me all your teeth, even the wisdom ones, just like how I showed mine to that old lady.

Good, you look nice when you smile.

We all look and feel good when we are in alignment with source energy. Isn’t it true?

That’s all for today.

Wishing you a very beautiful weekend, sweetheart.

Stay blessed, stay happy always 🤗

Much Love,

Arati
